jacketwatch - I don't care what they call him so long as he helps the Sox win the World Series. ;-) But I really get grossed out watching him chew that wad of whatever. Its disgusting.

The Yankees lost because the Red Sox beat them. Don't blame it on Gordon or Brown. The Sox were the better team for the seven games.

Why can't Yankee fans admit to that?

Doc,
Please. We're sports fans. This is what we do. We find the players most responsible and we forever curse them, insuring that they forever will be referred to with an expletive attached.

Ask a Bills fan if he blames 45 players or Scott Norwood for "wide right."

Ask a Cubs fan if he blames 25 players or Steve Bartmann for last year?

Ask a Southerner why the car in Dukes of Hazard is called the "General Lee" and not the "Jeff Davis."

Get the transcripts from Boston sports radio after game 7 last year and listen for how many times Grady Little is referred to in less then pleasant tones. What is it Shaughnessy called him "He who shall not be named."

Ryan, Your a fun fan to debate with.

I believe it was divine intervention. Comeback from 0-3 to win on the house Ruth built. Erase 1946 and 1967 by beating The Cards.

Curt Schilling said on Letterman last night" The #1 reason the Sox won, We got Ruths ghost a hooker, so everything is cool"

The Red Sox didn't beat the '27 Yankees or anything. They barely beat a Yankee team that many didn't expect to get past Minnesota.

Yankees starting pitching was suspect all year and Mariano Rivera, while still great, isn't as unstoppable as he once was.

All the credit should go to the Red Sox for sticking with it and not giving up. It was a great victory for them, but everyone must realize that The Curse still exists and the Cardinals ain't no '04 Yankees.

Still, I like the Sox in 6.

Bennie, if it helps them win the series find out what it is and let me know so my Cubbies can use it. . reminds me of the story about US Grant. Someone told Lincoln Grant drank too much. As he was the only Gen. actually winning anything Linclon said find out what brand he drinks and give it to the other generals. . Good luck to the Sox. I sure hope Schilling can hold up. Cheers, Larry

As a long time Red Sox Fan,I have to agree that Joe Torre is, indead, a classy guy. Boston fans have always recognized talent....even on the opposing team.

As for Steinbrenner, who can blame him for doing anything possible to win. Does his spending make it rougher for other teams to compete...of course. You havce to respect him as an owner looking out for his team.

PS. If the curse is not winning the series since 1918, it ain't broken yet.

The Red Sox Won the pennant, and I give them credit for that. However, they are the MOST disgusting bunch of characters I've ever seen. Ramirez is the epitome of disgust, the way he spits and salvites. His uniform looks like it never has been washed and he looks like a misfit. I realize he's a hitting machine, but I wish they would not show closeups of him on TV. Johnny Damon is a great player, but he looks like a homeless bum. His hair is unkempt, and his beard looks like it has moths in it. I could go on about almost every player, but I save my harshest remarks for Francona. Every time I see a closeup of him, I feel like throwing up. He has a wad of crap in his mouth and he spits like an idiot. He drools all over himself and he is a pig. What a testimonial for the national pastime!

Dick, I'm sure you didn't mean to imply that Steinbrenner is looking out for anyone but himself. Torre, on the other hand, has figured out that, in looking out for the team, self gets taken care of. I hope he does take a well-earned vacation.

And Waldo, when I first saw Damon, I couldn't help but think Charles Manson.

Go Cards.

Joe is the epitome of class...Steinbrenner better think before he barks. Torre would get courted by many a rival. As for his month in Hawaii....send me a postcard atleast!
Speaking of class,I'm worried about the thought of my Bernie being replaced by Beltran. Losing Tino was hard enough on me.
Here here! Waldo and company have it right on the mark. Most of the players on the Sox are absolutely repulsive. Classless enough to pronounce themselves "a bunch of idiots" Didn't Mom teach them not to chew those wads of gum like cows?? Steinbrenner's "clean look" rule is one of his best ideas! Hopefully Boston will all go shaved heads next year..atleast they won't look homeless

Cards will keep the curse alive!!

It is truly sad that some fans can't celebrate in a rational manor. Fires, arrests, death?! Tragic. In the end,it's just a game. We all press on with our lives.

Anyway, LET'S GO GIANTS!!!!
