JFK to Niagara
Hi
We are a group of 4 adults between 55 & 60 age. We are reaching JFK airport at 9.00AM from LA on 9th June. We intend to visit Niagara for overnight tour and come back to New York on 10th June. What will be the ideal budget option for starting the tour straight from JFK airport to Niagara with stay and sight tour from both sides i.e. USA & Canada.

This is what you should budget: more time.
It's a 7-8 hour drive from JFK to Niagara Falls, each way.
9:00am arrive JFK
10:00am pick up rental car
6:00pm arrive Niagara Falls
Alternatively, you can fly JFK to Buffalo, NY on JetBlue - cost round trip will be several hundred $ each, rent a car.
Total $ budget I'd estimate about $1500 for 4 persons, depending on the availability and cost of flights.

Agree with Kathy. You really need to fly to Buffalo or Toronto to get to the falls quickly. Buffalo is usually much cheaper. You absolutely can't do the trip in a day driving or using a bus. Jetblue.com has flights from JFK to Buffalo. In Buffalo, either pick up a tour from the airport or rent a car there and drive yourselves.

I've just had a quick look and there are no decent priced flights from either JFK or LGA to fit with your 9 am arrival time. I think this is poor planning and a bad idea. Head into Manhattan and spend some time in NYC (assuming that's what you'd planned) and do the Niagara Falls visit toward the end of your trip either as a day trip or an overnight. Even if you were to try to buy a packaged day or overnight tour from NYC (which is pricier than trying to do it yourselves) it wouldn't work timing wise as these tours tend to leave from Manhattan very early (4-7 am). Just a packaged day trip using flying will cost over $400/person. http://www.bedoretours.com/onedaytourbedore09

As others have noted, Niagara Falls is far from NYC, transit back and forth is not easy, and even with an overnight you are allowing yourself very little time at the Falls. Flying is really the only way to see much of anything with one overnight - and it will be expensive and you need to get an earlier start than an 11 am flight (the earliest you could make).
