JFK Airport Hotels
My young daughter and I need to stay overnight at a hotel close to JFK airport next week. I was wondering which was the nicest and safest hotel to stay at - The Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Doubletree or Marriott Courtyard. Any other suggestions? Thank you

None of them are anything to write home about - and they're not located in walking neighborhoods - so you'll either have to eat at the hotel - or take a cab to a more pleasant residential area.
The thing to watch for is reliability of the airport shuttle - some are rumored to be uneven on this.

The Holiday Inn Express sounds like the best option to me.

This is really JUST if you're there for less than 24 hrs. Agree with nytraveler, these are NOT areas where you want to walk nor is there much to do/see. So you're at the hotel, period.
If you've got a bit more time but don't want to go into the city, the Pan American hotel is further away, but has a free shuttle to the airport and has a few restaurants around it. Still nothing fancy.
