Jerome AZ - Gold King Mine & Ghost Town

Is the Gold King Mine & Ghost Town in Jerome AZ worth the time and charge or should we keep on moving to Sedona and use our couple of hours there?

Do you have any favorite restaurants or attractions in Jerome area?

I like the State Park at Jerome. Good mining museum.

There's a good hot dog stand in town

We drove through Jerome last week as we left Sedona. Frankly I was not very impressed. Sedona is less than 30 miles away - so I would personally eat there. Others may have differing opinions though.

I think the town itself is interesting & worth the effort. We don't typically eat there, but we do usually stop for some ice cream. www.azjerome.com The Red Rooster is good for sandwiches & salads.

I find Sedona to be much more commercial and tacky than Jerome.
Jerome has several art galleries featuring local artists. Sedona has many more tacky t-shirt shops.

The Jerome Grand Hotel has outstanding views of the desert valley. The Haunted Hamburger is reasonable and has good food and views.
