Hi, Flying into Jackson Hole late last week of May, will need to rent a car/suv for daily trips into Yellowstone for a few days any suggestions or your experience appreciated

All the major car rental companies have branches at the Jackson Hole airport. I'm not sure about the availabilty of SUVs.

Do you know it's almost a 2 hour drive from Jackson to Old Faithful - one way? The rest of Yellowstone will be much further. Are you ready to drive that much?

Thanks, I have free use of a friends time-share but your correct about the driving. I have driven from Jackson to the north gate, it's a ride but this trip (if it works out)only planned to give my lady who hasn't a touch of Yellowstone.

We rented ahead of time from a car rental agency "at the airport" only to find that a lot of them are in Jackson. The agency will transport you by van to/from their office. We flew into/out of Jackson for our trip to YNP, Cody, Beartooth Hwy, and GTNP, and found it to be a great decision. The area is vast, so driving is just a part of it one must accept if vacationing there. Are you sure you couldn't squeeze in one night in YNP? I'm sure your lucky lady will love this trip!

We rented a Toyota Sequoia last June from Jackson Hole...thought we would get it from the airport but found out we had to be shuttled into Jackson to pick up and drop off the car. The car was fine, but rather a hassle to go from the airport into Jackson when we were staying out at Jackson Lake Lodge. I'm thinking it was Dollar Car Rental.
