Ivey House Inn - Everglades City
Has anyone stayed here? We're looking for an interesting place to stay for one night in/near Everglades on our way to the Keys and don't want to go to Flamingo.

You probably know about the Everglades Rod and Gun Club. It was once a hotel, but I don't know if it still is. It's been there forever. Perhaps you should investigate. There wasn't a lot down there last time I was there, though that was awhile ago. This was primarily a place for fisherman, lots of fish camps. But maybe it's changed -- Florida's like that.

I haven't heard of it, but then I haven't driven down that way in a couple years. I just looked at their website. Looks neat. I say for one night go for it! Everglades city is another world.
Although I can't quite figure out the menu they list for their restaurant. Mussels gorgonzola????
