wykel--I answered on your other post.
The first evening really isn't doable. Sounds like you were hoping to fit in about 6 hours worth of daytime activities in about 3 evening hours
Since you will be close to the Empire State Building on the evening you arrive, why not go then? It will just about be dusk by the time you're all settled in.

imo, this is a bit overly ambitious. If you've checked luggage, that will take time to retrieve and you will be coming into the city during rush hour. A walk over the bridge takes time and should be leisurely enjoyed. Perhaps you can do that on Tuesday. A 'couple of museums' takes time. Rather than a quick tour, choose one that really appeals to you. Look online to see if any museum has a special exhibit that you wouldn't want to miss.
Have you visited here before? If so, what have you missed on those visits?
I think the SOL at night is breathtaking. Maybe you should have dinner in Manhattan followed by TOTR. Other posters have written that the ESB line is very long and not worth the wait especially if you're doing TOTR.

I guess my thought is we purchased the ny pass for one day and want to use that on Tuesday so I don't want to pay to go to the ESB on Monday when I can go with the pass on Tuesday...we really want to cram in as much as we can in the time we have...I have been there before about 14 years ago...my uncle lived there at the time and he took us to the sights...my friend has never been. I just need direction in where to begin to do the most, we are in good health, fit, fast walkers, and are up for a challenge to have fun see the most we can and sleep when we are dead.

Answered on your other thread. You will probably get to your hotel around 7 pm. You have to figure all times from that. Nothing to see at former WTC site after dar - since it's a constuction zone. Also walking the bridge after dark will not be very pleasant and you won't see a lot.
You're not allowing enough time to get from place to place - or to see much of anything - or for meals.
The SI ferry roundtrip will take about an hour - but it takes 30 minutes to get there and the boats run every 15/20 minutes. So - starting at 7pm you will be back in Manhattan around 9pm. Even by cab to Brooklyn you will be finishing dinner at 10:30 and will finish walking the bridge around 11:30 - kind of late to head uptown and start on the ESB (don;t know when it closes).
You need to look at a map and get a feel for distances - how far things are from each other - and how long it takes to get places in traffic moving at 10 mph. Or - in the evening, waiting 15 minutes or even more for a train to come along.
