As I posted in the Lounge, my friends and I definitely had the silver lining of that big, big storm cloud!!
We arrived in Stowe, VT, a couple of days before the storm hit. Because the storm quickly made much of New England impassable, we had Stowe almost to ourselves...if you've ever been to Stowe, imagine what it was like to have tons of fresh snowfall, NO ICE, and absolutely NO lift lines! We had the mountain to ourselves.
The restaurants and bars were mostly empty, too, so we had fun chatting and hanging out with the staff. It was a great trip.

Love this thread. I was freshman at Union College in Schenectady. I'd gone out for pitchers of beer before the storm hit. When I woke up the window of my dorm room was covered with snow - as was the building. I stayed in for two days eating a care package from home that I had received a few days earlier. the heat stayed on despite the fact my dorm was the oldest all male dorm in the country...drafty, but gorgeous rooms.... at least that's what I remember!
