Islip to JFK?

What options are there for getting from Islip airport on Long Island to JFK and vice-versa? How much does it cost? Appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Private car service or limo (~$75) OR possibly the Hampton Jitney. More info here

It is about 40 miles to JFK. It might be cheaper, and faster, to rent a car at Islip and drive yourself to JFK.

If you click on mclaurie's info, you
will find the cheaest way to get to JFK which is cab or shuttle to LIRR.
LIRR to Jamaica & then the $5 Airtran to your terminal.
This is also alot of hazzle but it is
the longest & cheapest. The
alternative $80 limo is the most expedient & expensive.

I have to question the rate of $80 by limo to JFK. I live less than half the distance from JFK than from Islip, and the price is appox. $65.

So are you saying it would be more than $80, rogfam? Maybe so. There's only one way to find out and that's to call one of the car services. I've used Colonial from ISP (but not to JFK) and they've been fine.
