Islamorada & Key West
Planning an April trip (though too short) to the Keys. Plan to spend one night in Key West and one night in Islamorada (on the way back to Fort Lauderdale area). There are 4 of us - 3 generations! (2 adult grandchildren, mom and grandma) so a 2 bedroom suite would probably work best.
Does anyone know of Holiday Isle Beach Resorts and Marina in Islamorada?
Any suggestions for a place to spend one night in Key West that would have an affordable 2 bedroom suite?
I love this site!!

Have you checked tripadvisor.com for reviews? That hotel doesn't get the best of reviews on there, but it depends what you are looking for. When we were staying in Islamorada we were told it has a bit of a "party" reputation which might be fun for the young adults, but maybe not for grandma.
Good luck and happy travels.

Holiday Isle is the HQ for spring break in Islamorada... It is loud, Dirty, and everything you would imagine from a College Hotel during Spring Break...It has a great Tiki Bar with that boozy/barf combo aroma, but they do hose it down daily....As adults you will probably not like much about the property...
An alternative would be the Hampton Inn which is newer and cleaner and would be in the same price range...
For KW, almost all properties raise their rates for that period and many demand a multi night booking... I would suggest a B&B with a two room booking... we liked the Chelsea House in old town, but there are dozens of similar properties... good luck!!!

Ditto on Holiday Isle. Great place for cocktails (sadly, it has been bought by a huge conglomerate that will be tearing everything down and building luxury condos a' la Ocean Reef Club) and boat watching.
If you can, get out on the water while you are in Islamorada. Don't rent a boat but hire a boat and captain. Trust me on this one.
Great places to stay in Islamorada: Pines and Palms, Casa Morada, The Moorings, Cheeca Lodge.

I don't really like Holiday Isle for reasons already cited. I have stayed at the Pine & Palms which is nice and very laid back. I have also stayed at the Cheeca and liked it very much. They have remodeled and I think think they've taken that as an opportunity to raise their prices. For one night, I wouldn't spend too much.
There are dozens of places that would suit your needs in Key West. I normally stay at the Gardens, but I don't think that'd work for you. The Eaton Lodge may have two rooms that connect. It's a nice place (I stayed there a few years ago) that has good prices.

Hawk's Cay on Duck Key is very nice and it's very close to Islamorada. You pass by it on your way from Key West up to Miami. The property is very large with several different restaurants and a small variety/grocery store. We stayed in a regular room but they also have villas. It was very quiet. They also have a lagoon with dolphins.
