How "normal" can your life be when I understand her husband has a HUGE gambling debt to pay off. In a previous Oprah interview, she admitted to having put her husband on an allowance to gamble. And has also admitted that he is in fact a gambler. Makes you wonder how much is actually going into her pocket, and how much is paying off her husband's debt?

I just love to listen to her! I've seen her in person once before and she was fabulous....hopefully, this show will work through the bugs like many do in the early preview stage. I couldn't care less about how her hair looks, or if she's too skinny or all the "catty" remarks being made...I only care about how she sounds. I hope she'll sound great next month when I see her.

well, let's put it this way: Take a look at her old house and then take a look at her new house. To her that is normal. To us, it is way beyond normal.

Regardless of how normal/not normal her life is, how good/bad her hair is..you won't find me in attendance at one of her shows.

But there are lots and lots of people clammering to take my place, so she won't miss me.

$400 is some good shoe money..why waste it?

It interests me that almost all of the above comments about Dion were so negative. Let's say a few positive things about her and her new show. First; give her credit for "changing" her original format. Takes guts. Second; long hair on a woman with a long face makes their features look even more angular. Third; she loves her child; great. She's lucky to have him because her husband had chemo and she took a chance with freezing his sperm before the chemo. Fourth, I applaud her dancing; she has a positive attitude about life and love. She's kind and she's human. Fifth; she worships her family and is generous to her family. Sixth; Her show is 100 minutes long and she does 20 plus songs. Seventh; I believe her to be honest and forthright. So please people, get off of her back and give credit where credit is deserved.

I agree with the others, I might have considered going before seeing the show, and now I won't. Her voice is awesome, and that's about it, might as well just buy her MANY CD's.

She's still going to make billions and loves what she does, so I don't think it matters if we're negative or not, we're just being honest.

I also agree that her hair is just AWFUL! She does look great in her commercials, too bad she got crazy and cut it all off and changed it to blond!

Saw the show last week. Was lucky enough to go to a dress rehearsal performance, 5 days before the actual opening.

I must start by saying that I am neither a Cirque Du Soleil fan or a Celine Dion fan, so you might take this with a grain of salt.

To put it in a nutshell...the show was too long. Parts of it were putting me to sleep. The show never really gets moving. It leaves you glad to get up from your seat, instead of energized at the end.

The dance numbers, sets, and costumes (or lack of costumes) didn't make any sense. One minute there's a bride floating across the stage. The next minute, there's a tall bald guy standing motionless next to a street lamp for an entire song. At one point, Celine turns to her football field-sized plasma screen and has a dialogue with animated giraffes. Reason? Who knows?

We had orchestra section seats, which would have sold for $300 for the pair, had we paid for them. I just kept thinking "$300 for this?"

Having said that, I don't think that anyone could produce a show that I would feel justified to pay $300 to see. In addition, Celine's voice was powerful and clear. She sang all of her popular songs. The live orchestra was wonderful.

If you are a Celine Dion fan or a fan of interpretive dance, you will love the show. If you are easily bored by shows like me, you won't get your money's worth.

Mamma Mia was a whole lot more fun!

I agree with the last poster, I taped her show and watched it the other day and was really disapointed. At least from what they showed, it didn't seem worth the amount of tickets in the least. I have seen more energizing and exciting concerts from traveling groups.

She has a great, strong consistent voice and she seems like she has a LOT of her hit songs and other good covers. That is about all that I thought was exciting. You are paying for the outfits, the stage, dancing...all of that so I think people DO have the right to say they didn't care for what they saw. She actually looks pretty in her car commercials with long darker hair, she reminded me of Julie Andrews or some older lady with her new haircut and color. Her clothes were beyond strange coming from a woman who almost always dresses with class. She sang Drive in suspenders, short boy looking hair and it was in no way sexy or romantic which is what that song is all about. The flying was a little strange, even the dancers had weird costumes on. I liked the times square backdrop and that was about it. Hopefully she won't bomb. I would have gone to see this show when in Vegas but I would probably not now, based off of what I saw. She would have been better just standing there singing, without all the other stuff.

Any more reviews of this show?? My cousin saw it several weeks ago and raved about how wonderful it was. Any other opinions would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Michelle

By my talley the score is:
Ixnay on Celine: 21
Pro Celine: 3

Personally I really dislike her persona and image.
How many times has she been spoofed on Saturday Night Live for her arrogant attitude and over the top style?
One minute they're making fun of Martha Stewart, Saddam Hussein and Hitler, the next they're lighting into Celine.
To me that makes quite a statement about how she is viewed by most people.
If the vast majority of people liked Celine, the SNL jokes wouldn't be funny and probably wouldn't have been brought back for a repeat performance.
