Is it cheaper to buy Luau tickets in the states or in Hawaii?

We are planning a trip to Maui on September 1st. can't miss out on the Luau!! right now Royal Lahaina Luau is on special for $73.95. is it cheaper to buy the tickets here? or is it cheaper to wait and purchase over there?

How about the advance purchase of activities?

Hawaii is one of the 50 states! It feels like a different world, but it is part of this country.

Most of the time, I find it cheaper to buy tickets on-line ahead of time. But, sometimes you can find a bargain at your destination.

Maui is beautiful! You will love it.

When you get to the Maui airport, get the "This Week" Maui free book and check for coupons. Some of the activities are 2 for 1 offers-though don't know if the luau is offered. I just checked www.thisweek.com and they have the Royal Lahaina luau for $58.99 and you can book online.
Have a good time!
Aloha

I am going to Maui in June. Does anyone recommend a particular luau over others? or are they all very similar?

I only went to the Old Lahaina Lua, which supposedly is the most authentic one, and it was great. Amazing setting, excellent show and food.

The ones with a fire knife dancer are more entertaining. They also have a better variety of dances.

Feast at Lele is excellent, but expensive.

Drums of the Pacific has best fire knife dancer on Maui.

Royal Lahaina Luau is decent. More of a budget luau. Good if you have kids as they can get in free or really cheap. Stay away from this one if you are not taking kids.

Old Lahaina Luau is decent, but no fire knife dancer.

Hawaii is in the States. The proper term if you will is mainland (referring to the Continental U.S.)

If you want to go the the Old Lahaina Luau, I suggest that you buy your tickets NOW. We wanted to go and tried to buy our tickets several weeks in advance online, and it was sold out. And sold out for some time to come.

Thanks for the tip about tickets for the Old Lahaina Luau. I will be on Maui in early Sept and had planned to purchase tickets sometime the week before leaving. However, based on your comments I will puchase much earlier. Thanks again.
