Is Amelia Island, Florida Worth Going?
Hello, My girlfriends and I are looking for a reasonably priced getaway in May. We were thinking of going to Amelia Island, Florida, but we know nothing about it. Can anyone tell me if it's worth going to? If so, Helpful hints on Where to stay, things to do and places to eat.

If you don't know anything about it, what is drawing you? May should be a good time; there is a great ocean beach and also a cute town, Fernandina Beach. I don't know anyplace to stay.
Will you have a car and want to take day trips?
You could visit Cumberland Island by ferry.
Also look at St. Augustine, if you want sightseeing. I like the Sea Islands of Georgia, too.

Full admission, it has been many years since I was there, but it is a beautiful area. We lived nearby and spent a lot of time there and loved it. We also did girls trips there and it was a good fit for that. Fernandina Beach has much to offer. Hopefully others can give up to date info on places to stay and restaurants.

How do you define "worth it"?
Are you asking in terms of actual cost? If so, what type of budget do you have?
If you are asking in terms of natural beauty of the area, availability of activities, types of restaurants, etc. and how those things might compare to other places you've visited then you'll have to give us a list of your "desires" and some idea of the places you've visited that you liked and where you went that you disliked.
Sorry, but we are not mind readers so we don't know what makes something "worth it" to you.
Like others, we've been to Amelia and for us it was "worth it" - you may feel differently.
