iron in hotelroom?

Is it true that all 3 stars hotelrooms in the USA, have an iron and a board?

A lot of hotels do have iron and boards--but not all.. Mostly the 4 star ones..Plus most hotels will bring iron and board to your room if requested..

I would say MOST do -- and not just 4 star hotels. I never bring a travel iron anymore or a hair dryer. I'd unpack yours!

Expedia has very good descriptions of hotel room amenities. Why don't you look up the hotel you're staying at on Expedia and see if an iron is listed.

There was a time that wherever I went, my iron went with me. Yay, even unto cruises and my first two trips to Hawaii, I took my trusty iron. I've tried to seek help for this, but it's useless.

Anyway, in recent years my iron has stayed at home (and it's mad too) due to the fact most hotels these days DO provide irons. Before you take yours along, I ditto the suggestion to call the hotel first.

Most hotels do...either in the room or on request from the front desk.
Why don't you call the hotel and ask?

Hmmm ... wonder what kind of germs are on the ironing board cover? Sorry, just remembering an old thread.

dwoodliff: I'll kill them with my hot iron!
Thanks to you all. Still, I won't take the risk. At least, my iron is germfree

Certainly your hot iron is germ-free (or at least itonly has familiar germs), it's the cover we're worried about!

I agree with the advice above: although not every hotel has an iron and board in every room, I have never encountered a hotel where you could not at least request to have them sent up from housekeeping for temporary use. I would never bother to schlep an iron in my luggage!

Plus, in asking about hotel rooms in the USA, you're implying that you might come from abroad, where the current and plugs on your iron might not be compatible with US electric service.

Martin, find the hotel description and check room amenities. If irons are listed, all rooms have them.
