Interisland trip - Entertainment Book

Looking into inter-island flight from HNL to KOA in June of next year. Online price is $74 each way. Are there discount coupons in the Entertainment Book?? Should I buy a Book before making online reservations? Thanks for your help.

One place to look for cheaper interisland flights is pandaonline.com, which sometimes has Hawaiian flights for cheaper than the Hawaiian web site.

also by June there should be a third interisland airline and hopefully the prices will come down...until Aloha and Hawaiian force it into oblivion as they did Mahalo Air and the 1 before that.

Thanks for the quick replies. My travel agent agreed that the $74 one way fare was very good, so I booked online. With tax, $158.00 pp RT. I'm psyched. Purchased airfare from VA and interisland today. Only 8 months to go! Yoo hoo.

AAA used to offer the best discount. Are they no longer available?

I just checked. Aloha no longer offers AAA discounts. They are running a $39.00 special on interisland flights (selected flights) prior to Dec. 31.

Thanks again for the replies. We're traveling in June of '06. Based on other information, I bit the bullet and purchased from Hawaiian at $74 plus tax. Hadn't thought about AAA. Thanks for the info.

About the Entertainment Book:

Most coupons in the Hawaii Entertainment Book are good for Oahu. There are some for Big Island.

If you wait until mid-March the book is discounted to about $20. If you wait until around May 1, the book is discounted again to $9.99 + $5 shipping.

We had some airline miles for airlines we don't usually fly - 18,000 NWA miles from MCI phone service etc. that we used on partner airlines to get from Maui to Oahu for free. We were able to fly our whole family although it was three on one airline and 3 on another. You wouldn't want to use your miles that you're saving for the grand tour of Europe but if you have odds-and-ends miles, it's worth a look.
