Flights
WE are going to fly from Honolulu to Kauai on a Saturday and back on Friday. Should we buy our tickets in advance or just showup at the airport the day we want to fly. First time going to Hawaii, any info will be helpfull. Thanks.

Aloha!
You can often find lower fares by purchasing your tickets in advance on the internet. Try the websites of the two major interisland airlines: Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Air. The only disadvantage to this is that you have to pay change fees should you have to reschedule your reservations. Good luck!

The number of inter-island flights has been reduced -- it's very possible that if you show up without a ticket, you will be forced to stand-by status...and may or may not catch a flight off the island.
Ticket prices on Hawaiian Air and Aloha Air are 3-tier. The further (farther?) in advance you purchase, the better your chances of getting the lowest fare.
Round trip or one-way, the 3 prices are:
$69 or $89 or $100 per person
