Interesting sandwich on BA flight
I know this should probably be on the Europe board... but I thought I might have better luck getting an answer over here.
On a BA flight a few weeks ago, they served a small roll with s few strips of bacon and a smear of cream cheese and ketchup... I think.
People around me thought it was disgusting, but I actually liked it.
I am wondering if anyone else has had one of these odd sandwiches. Is it cream cheese and ketchup, or something else?
On another BA flight they served the same roll stuffed with cold bacon and a bit of cold scrambled egg. Again, I liked it.
It's possible that I eat just about anything

TX - My family came over on the Mayflower but kept the English way of cooking throughout the generations. I don't have a clue on what that is called but have to say that it sounds like something my mother or her mother would've made. Thanks for the memory-cringe but I'm glad you liked it!

Tx-can't help you with your sandwich, but you reminded me of the unusally sandwiched we had on a BA flight between London and Paris. They consisted of some type of onion "relish" spread in a water roll. It looked very strange, but hey, I gave it a try. Actually, wasn't that bad. Hubby was thoroughly disgusted. He HATES onions, and didn't realize what he was eating until he bit into it

I wonder if the "ketchup" might have been a chutney. This year I have made a roasted red pepper ketchup that would "seem" like ketchup, but MUCH different and better.
And when hungry, I have been known to eat almost anything. I know I'm in the minority, but when they used to serve meals, I rarely found them inedible. Maybe not wonderful, but edible.
