Info on Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs?

Does anyone have any feedback about this hotel and the area it is in? Thanks!

You might want to look at: http://www.pointehilton.com/ which gives a overview of the Pointe Hilton resorts in the Phoenix area, or go to: http://www.pointehilton.com/tapa/default.stm for more information directly on the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs.

Hope this helps!

It's a nice place, great pool area and decent restaurants. But it's kinda far from anything else if you want to do anything in Phoenix/Scottsdale. It's great if all you want to do is hang out at the hotel and pool.

We loved everything about the hotel itself- terrific rooms, nice pools , beautiful grounds. Nice hiking trails in the area too. But I agree with the above post - the major drawback was the location. It was a long drive to restaurants and other sights in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. If you just want to hang out at the hotel or planning to visit Sedona, etc and don't care about spending much time in the main areas of Scottsdale, it would be great. We had problems finding many decent restaurants in the area - ended up driving a fair distance every night to eat.

I'd agree with the previous poster, but add that it's typically a great bargain. All the rooms are suites and the grounds are lovely. Terrific bar with good live piano and jazz.

When I last visited a few years ago, there were a couple other Pointe resorts in Phoenix/Scottsdale. One was at Squaw Peak & the other at South Mountain. If those resorts are still within the Pointe group, I'd suggest you stay at the Squaw Peak resort. You can get resort privileges at Tapatio Cliffs but be much closer to other things to do in the Scottsdale area. They had a great water park and a highlight for Phoenix is climbing Squaw Peak in the morning.

We live within two miles of Pointe Tapatio and think it is a great location. I am so sorry the concierges did not help others with the restaurant situation. There are several pretty darn good restaurants quite close to the hotel. I agree that if you want to spend most of your days in Scottsdale, ten miles is too far to drive, however downtown Phoenix(Heard Museum, ballparks etc.) are also about ten miles, so it is rather easy to get to all directions. The area is very nice and the resort is picturesque. Happy to help you in any way to make a fine trip.

I stayed at this hotel last month for a conference. I thought it was very nice. There are several nice pools and the service was great. The suites were a nice size. I would highly recommend it.

It really isn't far from the city, if you mean downtown. Phoenix is extremely spread out, so there is probably fifty miles in each direction from the Pointe. You won't have any trouble at all driving here, it's all in a grid, except for traffic, most things are direct shots in the direction you are going and you are off one of the main east-west streets that will take you to Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, etc......and the resort is on 7th St. which is a main north-south street and will take you downtown or things toward that way. Your concierge can set you straight and get you moving in the right direction with no problem for you.
