I wish to meet a friend

I am visiting Honolulu this sunday and will be in Hyatt. In the evening, I wish to meet someone who could keep me company even for an hour talk about Hawaii. I'm leaving Japan day after tomorrow. Thank you.

Try Craigslist or the Rick Steves travel companions site.

There are so many crazies on Craigslist... it would scare me to meet someone that I cannot see a post history on.

My friend met her husband on Craigslist; her sister wound up meeting her husband there, too. I know a lot of people who use it for dating. People I've met via Craigslist are no more or less "normal" than average. There are "crazies" everywhere - you need to use common sense when meeting someone no matter how you do it yet not be too paranoid.

I was looking for a specific piece of furniture and happened upon the rants and raves section of the Dallas Craigslist. Man, it is pretty much a tirade of useless, offensive posts.
It just makes me wonder if they post that garbage and then head over to where you post for friends.
At least on Fodors you can choose to look at everything someone has posted.

I am so thankful to everyone who took time to reply. And please let me apologize too for whatever "akward or non-sense" post I did. It's just that I wanted to make the most of my short stay in Honolulu particularly in this area where i will be attending a seminar. I thought of getting a chance to enjoy the short break during the 4 days seminar. It was as simple as that ... not knowing I even scared someone.Anyway,I sincerely thank you again for all of the replies.

If you are going to a seminar, there will be a very good chance that there will be someone there who is in the same position that you are.

Don't overlook the chance to meet someone that would have the same interests as you do. At least someone from the seminar would can talk about the same things.

When I have a conference in a new area I often plan an activity that I want to do and then "put the word out" in case others at the conference want to join me. That way, I DO something and end up with folks with similar interests to enjoy the experience with me.

Through the years, folks have become used to me playing "travel agent" and will contact me to see what's going on during the free day or free afternoon.

Lots of great memories through the years - and never a "wasted" free day/ afternoon.

Oops! "This Sunday" would be tomorrow, wouldn't it? Just plan something you want to do and ask around today if anyone is interested.
