I only have 7 hours in Maui!!!
What would be the best way to use that time? Going in March, so will probably do a whale watch (any suggestions?),wanted to see the sunrise at Mt. Haleakala but can't - how about sunset? How long does it take to get up and back down the mountain? Other ideas? Help please!! Thanks.

How do people manage to travel so they have 7 hours in Maui? And where will you be starting the 7 hours -- at Kahalui Airport? Or on a cruise ship somewhere off West Maui? This is the sort of question that leads to parody.
Seriously, Jesse, I think whatever you do will be wonderful and at the end of your 7 hours you will be very frustrated that you have to leave.
Note to dehahma: LOL from your post!

Jesse,
Are you on a cruise ship? If so will the ship be docking in Kahului or tendering into Lahaina? From Lahaina it's about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive to the summit of Haleakala - I wouldn't attempt that AND the whale watch. From Kahului it is about an hour or so to the summit. You could arrange your whale watch out of Maalaea Harbor which is about 20 minutes away (but in the opposite direction). It's doable but still a very tight schedule. Can recommend Pacific Whale Foundation for the whale watch cruise.
