jlsct- Glad I checked the post again. But now I'm a bit confused. What does the TT034 mean for the $129 rate? Also, it didn't really matter for me, since we are staying there 3 nights. The price comes out about the same. $129 for 3 nights or $159 for 3 nights minus $100. But if you do know that the TT034 means with the $129 rate, I'd love to know. Thanks for all your advice.

Yes - I know it is confusing!

This is what you can do:

Go back to the original TravelTicker link.

Link to the Hyatt(Your dates may actually be different.)

I put in Arriving December 25 and checking out on December 27 to mimic your 3 night stay. (Your dates may be different)

When you are transported to the rate page, the first rate you see at the top of the page is
Tt Special Offer Code: TT034 Rate Details
Tt Special TT304 (The FIRST of TWO TT304 options) gives you a rate of $129 a night.

If you click on TT304 "Rate Details in tiny little letters at the top - you will see a second box open up.

The insert second box says:
"Additional Charges:
10.500 Percent tax
Ca Tourism Assessment: .21 Per Room Per Night USD Other Charges
Rate Description:
Reduced Rate:Tax Excluded:
Cancellation Policy:
Cancel By 3pm PST 24 Hours Prior To Arrival"
But NOTE - there is NO mention of the $100 bonus discount.

The cost of this room without parking is $387 plus the 10.5% tax = $427.64
(You may want to check my math; it's my weak spot...)

The SECOND TT304 Option right below the first is coded at
Tt Special Plus (Notice the word “Plus”) and gives you a rate of $159 a night
Tt Special Plus Offer Code: TT034 Rate Details

If you click on TT304 "Rate Details in tiny little letters at the top - you will see a second box open up.

"Additional Charges:
10.500 Percent tax
Ca Tourism Assessment: .21 Per Room Per Night USD Other Charges
Rate Description:
Includes: - One 100united States Dollars Resort Credit Per Stay - 2 Night Minimum Length of Stay Required
Cancellation Policy:
Cancel By 3pm PST 24 Hours Prior To Arrival"

The price for this room is $487.00 plus the 10.5% tax ($51.14) = $538.14
Minus the $100 credit, the room now costs = $438.14

If they deduct the $100 before they apply the 10.5% tax the room will cost $487.00 - $100.00 = $387.00 + plus the 10.5% tax = $427.64

So, either way, the room will cost you the same amount.

(It WOULD have made a difference if you were only booking for 2 days and didn’t use the Tt Special Plus, because then the 1st option would equal $258 plus tax, but the second option would equal $318 - $100 = $218. Whether or not they applied the tax before or after the discount it would still be better to use the second option.)

In your case, you’re fine either way, so enjoy the view from the 40th floor cocktail lounge!

Regards and holiday cheer! jlsct
