Hey Kal according to the SJ troll you and I are the same person, so how does it feel to be a 40 something woman from SF? You thought you were having a knee operation but actually it was a sex change!!

Lawsy WatSon, get over it! Who cares?

Cal...glad you are on the mend. How much longer before you are fully back in the saddle (ie, riding that bike again)?

Tell us more about that nurse you had! Was she named Darvy Darvocet or Vickie Vicoprofen by any chance?

OliveOyl,

I am not sure if you are aware, but on the California threads Kal has been using different screenames to bash San Jose and promote San Francisco when tourists are asking about planning a trip to Northern California. Ever since Kal has returned, the SF promoting and SF bashing has once again commenced.

San Franciscans are pretty upset lately because the U.S. government has officially designated San Francisco as being party of the San Jose Metropolitan area. In light of that SF promoters feel the need to trash San Jose. Sad indeed. The link below is to a newspaer article explaining the situation.

WhatsOn, I notice that when clicking on your name, you seem to have great interest in Kal and a few other posters.
Perhaps your time would be better spent posting nice things about places that interest you, or people that you like.
Just a thought~

WatsOn you made me choke on my own spit! Now that's dandy trick.

When I found this site in early 2001 Kal had already been on this site for a few (or more than a few) years. He provded me with tons of great info about my then point of destination and a personal favorite of his, Kauai.

So maybe you want to continue this rant of yours but at least you should be honest about it. I realize that you probably won't stop because I've posted this but be sure that the regular posters here, including OO, know who Kal is.

Well, all I can say is that the person using the name "Kal" before registration is not necessarily the same person who has registerd the name "Kal" after registration earlier this year.

WatsOn, I know who he is--you can spot him a mile away by his humor...which we all love. I think he and Scarlett qualify for the titles of Fodors Mr and Mrs Congeniality!

You do yourself a disservice IMHO by continuing along this vein. It's really best to let it go. Talk up the good side of San Jose instead of dwelling on the negativity of this conflict. You'll find far more flies are drawn to that honey.

I know it's frustrating to have someone with a zillion and one screen names posting silly-nothings just as during pre-registration but more often than not, that is done for the sole reason of getting someone's goat...and whomever it is gets a real kick out of it each he does. Difficult to do, I know, but it's best to look the other way and not give him that pleasure.

Now...not to rub salt into wounds here, but I am curious. If we were to fly into San Jose, how long a drive is it to the Embarcadero area of SF or Monterey/Carmel? NOT that I wouldn't love to stay in San Jose (yikes) but our hotels would be in these other two places! Serious question...for anyone! Southwest flies to SJ, but not SF--we must have cancellable reservations during hurricane season and we can with that airline.

OliveOyl,

Southwest also flies to Oakland. You may want to consider flying into Oakland on the way to SF and fly out of San Jose when returning from Monterey.

Oh, drive times from San Jose to SF (1.5 -2 hrs) depending on the time of day and traffic. From San Jose to Monterey also about 1.5 hours.
