LOL is laughling out loud
Troll is someone who post messages just to get a reaction
Topping is to get a topic back to the top so it can be seen again.
ttt is to the top and is the same as Topping

GTG is new to me.

ttt and topping are the same (ttt stands for "to the top"). It is a message someone will post onto a message that has moved down the list, so it will bring it to the top for more answers or make it easier to find.
GTG is for gathering -- usually a planned meeting or party for posters from a particular region.
Troll is a person who posts a question looking to "bait" people with answers, often of a negative vein, such as "Aren't all French rude?" Also it is often a person who posts under a different screen name than usual, trying to hide his identity, particularly when his post will arouse suspicion or anger.
LOL is Laugh Out Loud. Just a way of saying, "I think that's funny."

And there's the all time ridiculous IMHO. There are no humble Fodorites.
