Hudson River Valley
Covid cancelled my plans for a trip I had planned a while back, so I'm hoping to get there this year for a few days. Driving up from New Jersey, stopping at Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, Walkway Over the Hudson and also seeing Storm King, Hyde Park, Val-Kill, maybe Vanderbilt Mansion, eating at CIA if possible and Red Hook Diner. If we stay in Rhineback for 2 nights, if this feasible without being ridiculous? Looking at the west side, the sites that are of interest are Woodstock, Mohonk Preserve, West Point, New Paltz, and possibly a river cruise in Kingston. If we extend the stay in Rhinebeck would that be too much driving to go over to the west side of the river, or would we be better off staying 1 or 2 nights on the west side, or just make that a separate trip altogether?
I've read mixed reviews about the Beekman Arms. Does anyone have any personal experience with staying there? I was recommended to the Millstream Inn at Woodstock, but think that is a bit out of the way for the east side attractions?

If you stay in Rhinebeck then Hyde Park, Val-Kill, Vanderbilt Mansion, eating at CIA and Red Hook Eveready Diner are all feasible without being ridiculous. Walkway over the Hudson fits as well. Storm King is a longer drive away and would be best done on your way back to NJ rather than to/from Rhinebeck.
I don't have any recent info about hotels/Beekman Arms, sorry.

I would also urge you to visit Olana. The grounds and view are beautiful and it's worth visiting even if you don't want to tour the house.
i am not sure val-Kill makes sense with the house closed.

Reminder that the Vanderbilt Mansion and FDR House have partial tours (a few rooms) Fri-Mon only, closed Tue-Thurs.
The exterior of the FDR house is in a shamefully dilapidated condition 👎.
