How's the traffic?Need info immediately!

Returning to Phila. on Sunday, Aug. 25 by car from Boston. How is the traffic going to be? Is it better to drive home on Saturday to avoid traffic? Thanks for your advice!

Traffic will be hellish! There will be accidents galore. In fact, many accidents are scheduled for Sunday, August 25! DOH!!

If you leave very early Sunday morning you might avoid the worst of the traffic.
I would leave on Saturday, late afternoon, to insure the trip did not more than 6 hours.

Coming out of Boston, listen to AM 1030, WBZ for traffic info. In NY, 1010WINS.
The I90/I84 intersection in Sturbridge can be terrible. Yo might want to consider jumping on to Rte 20 west in Auburn to I84. Check traffic news to see if you might want to do that.
Also, strongly suggest taking the Tappan Zee instead of GW.

Count on a backup at Sturbridge turn-off from Mass Pike. Count on misery around NYC area, esp. NJTurnpike from NYC to Trenton. Saturday's definitely a better idea, or try plotting out some alternative routes to take you far north of NYC (Tappen Zee or even next bridge north) and not the Garden State beyond the first 10 miles or so. We've often taken routes that go through Bucks County just to avoid the whole mess. Check a map.
