We had a weekend worth reporting:

Yes, chickadees, we were in New Orleans, where we partook of entirely too much food and drink, but certainly never too much fun!

I promised BayouGal I'd write a short trip report, so I'll save details for that.

Recoving slowly but happily,

Byrd

Weekend was good. Went to the Eskimo game on Friday night. Perfect night for football, too bad they lost. Had a few beers at the game, then went to my friend's place afterwards, had more beers and a big "zoomer" to finish off the night. Saturday and Sunday was a daze.

Ah, this weekend was the return-from-vacation-and-appreciate-your-own-home weekend! We were able to avoid the hideous heat that took over during the last couple of weeks in July by being in the mountains. Weekend was spent catching up on laundry, picking up the dog from the trainer who boards her (untrained as usual, as the trainer says “It’s not her it’s you”). Did some back to school shopping with DD and after all these years I have finally caught on to the value of shopping early. Enjoyed the milder temps by having dinner out by the pool. Ahhhh loves those kind of summer nights!

Had a steamy, wonderful weekend in Boston. Shucked 8 lobsters to make lobster rolls and then headed to an outdoor concert with VIP passes to the Google Dolls and Counting Crows....fun!

Great idea for a thread, Faina!
The only traveling I did this was weekend was round-trip from home to hospital, i.e. to work )-:

Hot, with afternoon thunderstorms! Stayed in with DD recovering from oral surgery. She's back in business today, of course. Oh, to be young again!

Wonnnnnnnderful.

I'll spare you all the details, but I've had one hell of a summer, and not in a good way.

I haven't had time to breathe lately, so on Friday I left Boston and went to the beach in RI for the weekend for some much needed R&R.

Refused to look at my phone or a computer and enjoyed every second of it. Ate like a champ, sunned and napped at the beach, drank a bit, read a bit for the first time in ages. All in all, just a lovely chill-out couple of days. I felt like I was on vacation for a week!

Ahhhhh

Sistahlou - Do you mean GooGoo dolls?

But, google dolls could really help in a pinch when you need to look up something quickly...

We celebrated son's 11 bday - big family brunch here.

Annesherrod,

Your comment about Google Dolls made me laugh out loud. Probably sistahlou has spent too much time online!

Attended a wedding in Portland, Or.
Drove back to Eugene down 99 Hwy through the wine county and tasted at
Domaine Drouhin winery outside of Dayton.
I think they have the best Chardonnay
and Pinot Noir I have ever tasted.
Winery is not well marked- no sign off the Hwy so have to ask directions but its worth the trip.

I had a pretty good weekend--flew to Portland, visited the Japanese Gardens, the Rose Garden, Canon Beach, a lighthouse in WA state and hiked up Multnoma Falls all over a period of 3 days.

But best of all (as mentioned above) I met Scarlett and Pup!! I'll get a trip report posted soon.
