How was your weekend? Monday, July 31

Let's see if this thread works.

I was in the Golden Gate park in San Francisco. The park's band tried to play Mozart. That poor composer must've been spinning in his grave!

My impresson was, they never get together for rehearsals. But the weather was nice, we had good time watching the birds and squarrels, and children playing.

How was your weekend?

Wonderful until I realized I threw out my back.

Had my long run Saturday morning. Made sure the AC was on 62 before I left the house, ran nine miles at 5:30AM, came home and showered and then crawled back into bed and was snoring by 7:30AM.

Went to the beach.

Went out to dinner that night and ate a Pittsburgh'd Filet and two glasses of Pinot Noir.

Goodness gracious my Saturday was fantastic! Just one big relaxing slow drip valium IV day.

My weekend was nice.

The toddler and I took an early morning walk and came home to homemade popovers and peaches for breakfast (yay Husband!).

We biked to the Farmer's Market and bought more peaches and tomatoes. I dropped the sack and bruised most of the tomatoes.

We checked out the crazy day sales downtown on our way back home and I bought a really cool winter coat that I didn't exactly need but . . . .

Ooops, posted too soon.

Anyway, it was a cute coat.

We went swimming both afternoons to try and beat the heat.

And we drank a lot of gin and tonics . . . you know, to try and beat the heat.

We had a totally LAZY weekend, which was great! My husband just began a 5 week break from his masters program, so the relaxing was much needed. Of course his idea of relaxing was to clean out the garage, lol! Thankfully it only took one day, and now it is sparkling. I'm sure it won't last too long though

A little blurry but wonderful, I think!

Saturday we woke up late in London (we'd arrived the evening before via Eurostar from Paris) and enjoyed our breakfast at the Novotel, Waterloo.
It was a slow start as the car hire place (Europa) seemed to be short staffed and worse, short of cars but we left Central London at 1pm and arrived in Stoneleigh for lunch at 2pm (traffic!). A few bottles of wine and a barbeque with friends in the sunshine lifted our spirits and we dragged ourselves away around 4.30 as we were staying with friends in Banstead. A take out curry, more wine and conversation with more friends topped off the night.

Sunday we had an uneventful flight home to Boston...

My weekend was good.

Spent Friday night by myself as fiance went to see visit his mom. I couldn't join him because we were throwing a shower for my girlfriend (my maid of honor) on Sat. She is getting married August 25th and I am one of 9 bridesmaids. It turned into the bachelorette party which was a blast. I made her handcuff a little blow-up doll, which we named Skippy, and she had to carry him around all night, among many other things. We went to this great bar called the Naked Turtle in Plattsburgh and drank and danced all night to a great band. I even got on stage and sang with them. Went back to the bride-to-be's house where I slept on the couch for just a few hours. Came home around 2 in the afternoon where I proceeded to lie on my own couch the rest of the day and well into the evening...Just can't do it like I used to

My week-end was dull in comparison. Finally got DH to move the bedroom furniture so I could paint. DD and I spent Saturday and Sunday painting. Just need to remove the painter's tape and move the furniture back in.

GoT! I haven't heard that term in years!
My Dad, born raised in The Pitt, loved his "baked potatoes" Pittsburgh'd when we BBQ'd.

Went to my beautiful cousin's-in-law 40th B'day party in a very swanky part of our town I didn't even know existed.
The cops won't let me on that side of town without a guide I guess

The cows had to walk over us when they came home.

I think it was our one night a year to stay out past midnight!
My liver is still aching.

Gosh, we missed ya, Kal!

I went to see Michael Buble in concert on Friday. Boy, that guy has no set target audience, huh? There were people young & old, refined & rough, city & country. Women were screaming for him. Men were screaming for him. AND the arena was full! Never seen anything like it.

Carbo loaded at Sasabune on Saturday, then ran 13 miles on Sunday. I should have gone to sit in the jacuzzi last night!

MelissaHI, lucky you! His version of "Sway" makes me melt!

I'm still recuperating from our weekend--we had friends over for dinner Saturday night...I think we drank more than we ate. We had so much fun I didn't want anyone to leave! Yesterday was sofa city--I did absolutely nothing which, once a week, is a nice treat!

I had planned to go to our library's annual children's book sale on Saturday, but I ended up staying home and selling our bunkbed set instead.

Sunday we went to church and did a bit of clothes shopping.

Nothing too exciting, but that's OK.

Beeeautiful weather in Portland, 70s and pure sunshine. We walked a lot with pup, went to a couple of movies and out to dinner with friends who kept us up waaay too late.
But today...today I got to meet P_M
So did Pup ((&))

What on earth is a Pittsburgh'd Filet? I've lived here for 50 years and never heard of such a thing. Are we talking Pittsburgh, PA?
