How to get White Sox tickets
Hi there,
I'll be in Chicago and would like to catch the game 3 White Sox game.
Can someone please provide info if the Box Office might have game day tickets, or release some standing room tickets.
I've checked StubHub and the tickets there are more than I wanted to spend.
Thanks!
Alanna

Do not know of usual mark-up for White Sox, but for the Red Sox when we buy from a broker we generally expect to pay about twice face value. For playoff games this goes up to 3-4x face value - so that may give you some idea of price.

This is another place you could check for tickets. They will cost more since it is a reseller, but I usually find it's worth checking more than one place.

Andrews, alannap says she looked at stubhub already.
Alannap, what are you willing to spend? These are playoffs tickets, so you'll probably end up dropping a good amount of coin to get in.

Thanks all. I'm really only looking to pay 2x face value for the nosebleed seats. I'll watch to see if any SRO are released for game three.
Worst case, we'll hit one of the bars around the stadium and watch the game on the tvs.
Thanks for your help!

Jimbo's is closing down as soon as the playoffs are over- huge losing its lease issue that has been on-going for a couple of years, but there truly are not more than a handful of bars- only about 3 or 4 near enough to do this.
You could probably bar downtown at some sports related place and see the Bears game at 12 and then the Sox game- it would be a sports overload made in heaven day for some people I know. LOL!

After the piteful game tonight, I wouldn't waste my money on tickets.
As for bars around the stadium, Jimbos is about the only sports bar (if you want to call it that). It's really a neigborhood bar. Check out the photo on YELP. Besides, if you aren't from "the neighborhood" you'll probably get the "fish eye".
In addition, once the game is over, you'll catch heck trying to get a cab back to wherever you are staying. Take JJ5's advice and stay downtown. A lot of the hotels have nice sports bars.
If you're 20-30ish, you could head north to the Lincoln Park area and hang out there. Just don't go to Wrigleyville and root for the Sox.

Got an e-mail from the whitesox about an hour ago (10PM Pacific) saying there were tix available for game 4, but they were gone when I checked a half hour later.
When I checked, I saw that sections 522 and 524 are in the Upper Box area. Face value is $60. You'd end up paying another $4 processing charge and $2.50 for the TicketFast option. Total price around $67 at whitesox dot com.
So you basically could have paid 2x face value to get in, but you would have had two tickets. Pretty good tix, actually. Sell one at the stadium for $100 or $60 or $40.
