How to get from DCA to Georgetown Univ
Have been to Metro website and there are 3 possible routes - subway to bus. Any extra info that would be helpful for dtr who is going to hang out in DC for 2 days during Inauguration (no tickets) just to absorb atmosphere - with friend who is freshman at Georgetown.
Cab fare appears to be less than $20 - and I will pay for that for her - but might like a back-up plan. (She arrive Monday noon leaves 24 hours later - staying in dorm at Georgetown)

It's definitely walkable but it's there is a lot of traffic. Does she know where she's going when she gets to the Georgetown campus?
She could also take the Metro to Rosslyn and catch a cab from there. There are frequent cabs in the area or she could walk to one of the nearby hotels and get a cab there.

If that means getting from G'town to DCA at noon on the 20th, the moment of the swearing-in, it could be difficult. Or it could be the few minutes of calm in the city that day.
My question is, why come at all if you must lesve at that time?

She could ride the Metro Connection bus from the Rosslyn Metro stop.

Wednesday Jan 21 will be a busy day at the airports, but at least there will not be the massive road closures that are scheduled for the 20th. All the usual routes from Gtown to DCA should be available, but probably slower and more crowded than on a typical weekday.
