How much time Soho to EWR?

We will be leaving from the Soho Grand next Sunday (March 15) for EWR. The flight leaves at 6:15pm (domestic). I think I would like to get to the airport by 4:15/4:30pm (unless people advise otherwise). I am using Carmel Car Service. What time should I have the car pick us up at the hotel?

Sunday afternoon traffic leaving NYC should be fairy light. It's only about 12 miles from Soho to EWR - allow 30 minutes travel time.

I would confirm with the airline on when you have to check in. I have had some miserable experiences at EWR - when the security line took more than an hour to get through (I avoid it at all costs).

And not long ago at JFK I was passing a large family group who claimed they had arrived at the airport almost 2 hours in advance - and at 40 minutes to fight time they were still in security - and begging to be pushed to the front - only to be told that it was there own fault they hadn;t arrived 3 hours in advance as required. (Yes, I was on the special ticket line Jet Blue has - for only $59 you get much more seat room, early boarding and a much shorter security line - the regular line was well more than 200 people while mine was about 15).
