Wow. What a sad commentary. Vows renewed by an Elvis impersonator. Now there's a marriage made in heaven. How utterly depressing!

Sally, excuse me, can't refuse the temptation to ask you what kind of mother are you to take your child to renew the vows by Elvis! And what kind of a son (and a daughter-in-law)would agree to such impersonation? Please, please, please, post the date on this board, I want to see it for myself - having hard time to believe a mother would do it to her child!

Faina...what do you mean "do this to my child"...they're the ones who thought this would be fun to do and I offered to pay for it...they'll be renewing their vows in Oct. 2004...come join us for the fun!!

To: [email protected], how condescending and snobbish of you.

I think the reason the Vegas lovers here are getting defensive is because of people like you insulting them. I've been to Vegas a few times. I had a great time. I also like cities, mountains, and scenery, and I'm sure many of the others here do also.

Guess what, I think hanging off chains on a cliff side or walking along narrow crevices in caverns is just plain dangerous and stupid. Be careful getting down of your high horse.

Can anybody imagine someone bragging about how many times they went to Vegas, or how neat it is. White trash thread, and maybe bubba city would be a good name.

We've been to Vegas 7 times over the past 11 years. It's a lively, fun amusement park for adults. (It's such an adult oriented culture, I really think hotels with casinos should ban families altogether......just my opinion!) We would probably go more often, but it's kind of a long flight from South Florida. We like to gamble, even though neither of us is particularly lucky. In fact, during our 11 year marriage we've gambled on 5 cruise ships, twice at Atlantis in Nassau, once each in Reno, Tahoe, New Orleans and Niagara Falls.

However, this is just one type of vacation we enjoy. Some of our most memorable trips have not had a gambling focus at all. London, Toronto, San Francisco, Yosemite and Zion National Parks, Hawaii, and several venues in North and South Carolina come to mind. We like to hike, bike and explore the natural beauty of this great planet. We like to visit museums and monuments and other points of interest, especially historical attractions. Do most people enjoy only one type of vacation? I doubt it!
