Hello. I just got reservations via priceline.com for the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in October. Can you please tell me if this is a nice hotel with a good location? Are the rooms small? Does anyone know if they accomodate up to 4 people? I have never been to Boston and I am wondering if this really is a good deal for $60/night.

Hi Diane-Iam also trying to find out info on the same hotel in October.I have read about the hotel and have heard mixed reviews but i too would be able to get a rate of $59 a night and in Boston that is unheard of.Right now I have plans to stay at the Ritz Carlton but at $235 p/nt.I hope for someone to let us know first hand of the hotel-good luck and have fun.

$59.00 per night!?!?! incredible. I stayed at the Park Plaza in October two years ago and thought it was great. Perfect location - close to the subway and freedom trail, Boston Common, etc. We paid nearly $200/night! I would go for it! The room we stayed in was small - 4 people would have been crowded.

I've not stayed at the BPP, but the hotel is in a SUPER location. It's right behind the Four Seasons. That rate is amazing for Boston, period. Take it.

I stayed there about 2 years ago during a conference. There's NO WAY I would spend any of my own money to go there again. I was expecting a nice hotel with good service. What I got was lousy service, 2 nights of interrupted sleep from false firm alarms (triggered by a malfuntioning furnance), and a room with paper-thin walls.

The rooms weren't NYC small, but they weren't huge either. But I just had a room with one bed in it.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location.

I just got back from a long business trip in Boston and stayed at the Boston Park Plaza for about 3 weeks. I would absolutely recommend it. The hotel is old, but major renovations have been done on it. The bathrooms show their age, but the rooms are more than adequate. After having some problems during check-in, the hotel delivered a complimentary bottle of wine and a box of chocolates to my room. If you really got this rate at $59, snatch it up. I paid upwards of $200.

Thanks everyone for your responses!! Can anyone tell me if they have a parking garage at the Park Plaza? I assume it will be expensive to park there, but wanted to make sure there would be parking available. Otherwise I may take the train in from Philly. I am definately glad I got this rate, paper think walls or not it sounds like a great location. Thanks again for your input!

There is a new seafood restaurant there that serves the largest assortment of oysters in the city. My only objection was I found the place too dimly lit.

Once you get to Boston, you don't need a car in the city. Boston is small & easily manageable via foot or subway or taxi (if needed). However, I'm guessing that maybe your visit will include a jaunt further north or outside the city to do some "leaf peeping" ???

And that $60 per nite @ Boston Park Plaza? Helluva deal for October !!! And so what if it's a tad crowded --- stuff all four of ya in the room and you've got extra dollars to splurge on fine dining or other items.

I stayed at this hotel last June. What a dump! My company paid $150 a night. For $60 a night, I would not stay in the room I was staying in. It was filty. But, my co-wworker had an ok room and I would probably pay $60 for it. There is no way two people could have stayed in that room. Stay at the Raddison across the street. Much nicer, better staff, cleaner.

There is parking garage across the street - $25+ per day. But your best bet is to come into Boston by train. Take a cab to the hotel which is very close by. BPP is such a superb location taht you can WALK to everything that you need to see between 5-15 minutes. Also the T, which takes a little getting used to, is great and eliminates the need for a car. You can take cabs around town and save a whole lot. The cost of rental + car park + meter car parks + occassional parking lots around town is prohibitive IMHO. Also please note that getting street parking is alsmot impossible. You will end up paying for parking in lots => very very expensive. The average parking price for 2+ hours in Boston is $20+. At $60, I'd stay there. I paid $200 and was very disappointed overall--AC was broken, alarm in vacant next room rang from midnight to 12:30 and the front desk didn't respond to my pleas, bathroom electrical outlet only accessible by standing on the toilet and reaching into the light fixture for an extention cord (really!), and dirty room service trays sat in the corridor for 12+ hours. My first room had no place to hang clothes; if you're travelling with 3 other people, be sure to request a room with a closet or hanging rack to accommodate everyone's clothing. The rooms are smallish, but not uncomfortably so. All that said, $60 is a helluva deal in Boston, and I'd jump all over it. Other people seem to have had a good experience at the PP, and I'd take my chances for that low rate. Enjoy your trip!
