How early do you get to Milwaukee Mitchell???

How soon do you REALLY have to get to Milwaukee's Mitchell Airport before your flight? We are only flying directly to Tampa, and the tickets say with the new security measures, you should arrive 3 HOURS before your flight!!!! Does anyone know if that is true????

I arrive one hour and not one second less. NOTE: this does not read, try to arrive 1 hour early and find comfort in having had good intentions of doing so.

Thanks, sobolik. I thought the 3 hours sounded ridiculous! Especially since I will be staying in a hotel across the street from the airport.

Depends on the time of your flight. If you have a say, 9am flight, I'd give myself AT LEAST 2 hours. Between 7-10 AM are very busy times so plan accordingly. I have a 6:10 am flight in a few weeks and will allow 1 hour but I'd give my self more time if it's during peak times.

I agree w/ pps. Give yourself about 1.5 hours & you should be fine - esp. since you're just across the street.

Thanks everyone. I never thought of that -- Monday is a popular day to travel early in the morning! I will be sure to give myself plenty of time, then.

With no checked luggage and a boarding pass printed at the hotel, I'd get there an hour in advance.

If you have to check luggage and go to the ticket counter, I'd leave 90 minutes. At Mitchell, there is rarely any line at curbside check-in, so that can be a time saver.

I'm not sure how where you'e staying has an impact on what time you should arrive at the airport--only on what time you have to leave your hotel.
