Well, we decided that Vegas was out of the question this year and we're a bit scared to travel. Ended up at the surprisingly quaint Saddam Inn, about 20 kilometers down the Saddam International Expressway from Mosul. We had a lovely two bedroom lakeside chalet, spectacular views of the sun setting on Lake Saddam, as the birds follow the low tide out to the Saddam tributary where it drains into the Euprates. We swam, rented canoes, and frolicked. Excellent room service menu and very attentive service at a downright bargain of a price. I did have a bit of a hassle with the front desk, they wanted to charge me extra for a rollaway bed for my cousin so I shot him. Can't let minor isses ruin a long holiday. I highly recommend this wonderful getaway, and would be happy to answer any questions from fellow fodorites.

As you know I do not condone the ruthless slaughter of innocent turkeys, so my girlfriend and I stayed home and had a delicious meal of bean sprouts with tofu, spaghetti with tofu balls, tofu pie and carrot juice.
To think that I saved one poor turkeys life is very fulfilling. To think that there are baby turkeys who can suckle their mother makes me very happy.
