moldy,
No crowds at all. We were there on Friday afternoon. Only about 20 or so people visiting the exhibit when we were there. Takes about an hour to get through the Di stuff alone. There's about 28 of her dresses (man, was she tiny!) of all her various stages, from proper English attire to the more daring gowns with open backs. It was very interesting to see the changes in style once she divorced Charles - from British designers only to French like Versace, etc. A dramatic difference.
Also of interest were all the books people signed in her memory: from schoolchildren, foreign dignitaries, ambassadors, presidents, etc. Most interesting was one signed by an unreadable prince, but his residence was the Taj Mahal.
They do sell tickets online, but it was obviously not necesary weekdays. Now weekends may be different.

Well, I don't eat out much, so I have nothing to contribute to this thread. But I'm not surprised to read all these recommendations and reports. Afterall, I believe Houstonians eat out more than other Americans, and there are more restaurants per capita. Lots of ethnic choices in addition to the American, Southwest, and Mexican food.

Wow - what great recommendations! I'm glad this thread was recommended. The only bad news is that I just checked the Natural History Museum and I see that I just missed the Princess Diana exhibit by a couple months. Oh well.
I haven't been to Johnson Space Center since I was 10, but hearing about it brings back lots of fun childhood memories.
I appreciate all the restaurant reviews and I'll let you know how our weekend goes. Thank you.

It is sooooo good to see a positive post about Houston. I know this is an old thread, but it's a great one so I'd like to add to it.
Hugo's on Westiheimer - Mexican and Central American food
Market Street Bar and Grill for burgers
Empire Cafe for late night dessert and coffee. They offer food, but I'm always there are night
Taste of Texas is a favorite with my husband
Hilton Americas Hotel (downtown) - for a drink with a view at sunset
Back Street Cafe for lunch with the girls
Star Pizza has great salad along with their pizzas
Sky Bar for music and a view.
Kim Son on Jefferson - chinese & vietnamese
Canyon Cafe
Katz Deli for the Philly Cheese Steak after a hockey or ball game
Spec's downtown for lunch. I just love their deli.
