Houston Restaurant Recommendations
Hello, my sister and I will be in Houston for the Met exhibit at the fine art museum April 3rd and 4th. We are staying at the Fourpoints Sheraton on hwy 59 about 2 miles from the museum.
Does anyone have any recommendations for restos in that general vicinity? We like just about anything, no chains please, and something in the $30 to $60 pp range would work. thanks, lynda

I was just there [the exhibit was wonderful!] and had lunch at the museum's Cafe Express. Sat outside and the food was very good and convenient.

Also heard good things about http://www.nikonikos.com/ which is pretty close on Montrose Blvd. if you like Greek Food.
There are quite a few other restaurants on Montrose too.
Check out for more places near museum:

Hope this helps...

Should have added that Deb's suggestions are all good. Just wanted to give you some additional ones. Another good Greek restaurant is Mykonos on Richmond just north of intersection of Greenbriar and 59.

I like Cafe Red Onion (Central American) lots better than Guadalajara (which is a chain). Also, in Rice Village, Cafe Rabelais is good for lunch and Yum Yum Cha for good and cheap dim sum made to order. Raven Grill and Prego and Carraba's are good, also Antica Osteria. You can check out reviews at www.b4-u-eat.com

Here is another thread with ideas for restaurants, but not necessarily all that close to museum:
