Is that before or after taxes? Don't forget to add ~13% plus $3.50 per day for taxes.
Do an Orbitz search or Expedia to get an idea if anything would be available. I didn't see anyplace I'd be willing to stay at that price pre-tax, but who knows.

There are lots of threads here about this subject and most of them are looking for rooms in March and April. So do a search. Recent recommendations for rooms in that price range (without tax) are Super 8, Red Roof Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Checking on kayak.com there are some places in the 30s (Red Roof), but setting a cut off of 44th st., I see nothing. Closest is the Excelsior on the 81 st for $191
But on Mobissimo.com, they say Orbitz has the Eastgate Tower and the Shelburne for $152. Nothing wrong with those.

Try tripadvisor.com. They have lots of recommendations and reviews. You can even search by price range. We are going to NYC soon and found our hotel on tripadvisor. We're staying at the Casablanca Hotel, if you want to check out their website, http://www.casablancahotel.com/. Good luck, and have fun on your trip!

Check www.biddingfortravel.com and bid on Priceline. You can get a 3 star hotel for around $107.
