Hotels in Destin, FL.

I'm seeking the best on the beach hotel/motel in Destin that is not a high rise. Nice if it was family owned. Any suggestions?

Have you considered getting a condo out on 30A? We love that area around Seaside, Seagrove, Grayton Beach. Watercolor Resort/hotel is there, but it is $$$$.

We like this area better than Destin. I't close to Destin, has bike trails, great beaches, no high rises.

It looks good, at least from website and aerial view. Do you know the Driftwood Lodge?

The Driftwood Lodge is in Panama City Beach--we have never been there. Panama Beach is a big spring break town. I would think it might be a lot like Destin which is more built up than the towns along 30A. I would imagine it would be fine as long as you avoided college breaks.

There is a Driftwood Inn in Mexico Beach, which is on the Panhandle but more remote than Panama City. I don't know anything about these properties. You can check the reviews on Tripadvisor.
