Hotels closest to Lansdowne St Boston

Can you tell me which hotels are closest to Lansdowne St in Boston? Closest to the nightclub Avalon. Not the Hojos near Fenway. It's getting bad reviews. Thanks

I just did a search here using "Fenway Hotels" and there are several suggestions.

There are really only one or 2 hotels within walking distance to Avalon, especially if you are not interested in Hojos. Not really a hotel area.

How about hotels with reasonable taxi fee to the Fenway area or on the subway or bus system to the area? Got any suggestions? Thanks

No, we're such a walking city I would not waste the money.

Walking at night in an area I am not sure of is not an option. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks

If you're willing to take a cab at the end of the evening, I'd search around Copley. Tons of options there, and not too far away by car.

Why not just phone for one . easily done here. I'll call to go to the airport and tell them at what time.

Since you may be willing to stay someplace other than Fenway/Kenmore area, it would be helpful to have more details. Price range, how long you will be in Boston - are you doing anything else while you are here or is main purpose to go to Avalon.

In general, the area around Fenway, Avalon and assorted other clubs is not one I would walk around in alone at night. If by chance you will be drinking at the club it decreases safety factor. I would not walk to MBTA Fenway stop late at night. However, in a crowd that might occur after club or show let out, safety is much less a concern.

There is a newish hotel in Kenmore Square that I can't remember the name of (someone else here will remember it) that has gotten mixed reviews and I know is not cheap. Keeping in mind safety issues, the distance is one that is walkable. There is also a Holiday Inn in Brookline - about a 10 minute ride on the Green Line MBTA trolley after a walk to Kenmore Square.

Cambridge area is nice. I one time stayed at Hyatt to go to Fenway Park. Easy trek to Landsdowne, whether it be by foot (20min) or train. Train stop is a very short walk, or I actually took the hotel shuttle to the T right to Fenway! They won by the way. Great trip!

I disagree strongly with gail - that area (West Fenway) is perfectly safe at night! It is primarily populated by doctors from the hospitals, who are not in the habit of mugging people!
