Hotel with a child

My husband and I are taking our 1 year old to NYC with us for the weekend. We are trying to decide the best hotel and area to stay in as we will be leaving our daughter with a sitter in the hotel room, so a little extra space ( chair etc) would be good.

Any suggestions - is Murray Hill area to far away from the thearer district?

Try posting again with the location in the title - you'll get more responses that way.

Nothing in Manhattan is really "too far" from anything else, especially if you take the bus across town or a taxi.

Have you thought about a suite, rather than two rooms?

Consider the hotel more important than the location. A 1 bedroom suite is a good idea so the baby can nap and you can be doing something else. Any of the Affinia hotels are good (affinia.com) as are the Blakely and the Rihga Royal. If you're planning on going to the theater and want to be close, the Blakely, Rihga, Affinia Manhattan and the Doubletree Guest Suites are the closest all suite hotels.

Have heard very good things here and elsewhere about the sitting service

The Rihga is a great hotel for kids and the location is excellent for sightseeing and theater.

I would also guess a lot of hotels that were previously booked might have room this weekend.

We stayed at the Doubletree Suites with our chidlren.
We thought it was a good location. It is very child friendly.
