Hotel Topaz or Hotel Rouge in D.C.

Hotel Topaz or Hotel Rouge in D.C.
Has anyone had any experience with either of these 2 hotels? Are they within easy walking distance of the metro? Any good restaurants around? Thanks

They're both great!!! in the dupont Circle area - near Metro and Dupont Circle has a true diversity of restaurants (you name the type and they've got it) and it's very close to Adams Morgan.

What is the area like around these hotels and Dupont Circle in general. I'ts been many years since I've been to the city.

Joe- the area has a high gay population in the Dupont Circle area--
and there has been some crime in that area---

The gay population does NOT bother me at all- the increase in crime does....

Just got back from trip to DC and stayed in Dupont Circle. Felt perfectly safe. Great area -- lots of coffee shops and restaurants.

Topaz is your best bet..closer to Dupont Circle and more luxurious than Rouge..Rouge is very hip and very RED if you like that idea.
