I need to find a hotel close to Times Square. Can someone offer any suggestions?

We stayed in the Novotel on the 32nd floor. It overlooked Times Square and was very nice!

Stayed at both the Marriott Marquis and Doubletree. Both are nice - Marquis is a bit of a zoo, especially when convention groups are staying there. But lots of activity, theatre within building, lounge that looks out on all the lights for drinks. Doubletree has some great views looking north on their higher floors.

You don't say anything about your price range. But if you're looking for something more "affordable", we liked the Super 8 Times Square.

There is also a Crowne Plaza and a Renaissance on Times Square.

I like the Comfort Inn MIDTOWN, just a block off Times Square , on 46th, on a block that is surprisingly quiet but filled with interesting restaurants. It's also the only all-nonsmoking hotel in Manhattan.

It's one of the Apple Core gruop of 5 hotels, which have a good reputation for small budget hotels; the Super 8 mentioned above is also part of this group and also on 46th. Despite its name, the Super 8 is actually farther from Times Square, closer to Rockefeller Center.

I like the Casablanca Hotel. It is relatively small with a good level of service. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served in a very nice lounge, the rooms while not huge are adequate, and it is kept clean.

We have stayed at the Millenium Broadway, and it was great, just across the street from the Marriott. Very nice hotel, we paid $180 a night for the 3 days before Christmas in 2000, not sure what their rates are now.

I second Cassablanca and Doubletree. There are about a million hotels in and around Times Square though...

Marriott Marquis / Millenium Broadway are two good hotels - obviously budget is important but, both can offer great views.

We stayed at the Marriott Marquis and thought it was great. Had a nice view of Times Square and had a celebrity sighting - we were in an elevator with Ray Romano.
