Hotel Near Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods

I'm looking for a nice hotel centrally located for Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods casinos. I checked into weekend rates at both resorts and they are HIGH. Can anyone recommend a nearby hotel that is nice, but reasonable? Thanks!

Hotels at the casino are very nice. I have seen ads recently for $99/night at Mohegan Sun (nicer than Foxwoods), but Mystic may be a nice place to stay. There is the Best Western Soveriegn Hotel at Exit 90 ($89/night I think), Howard Johnson's as well that just went through a major re-do. The Residence Inn Marriot in Mystic is supposed to be nice All hotels in Mystic should offer you free shuttle buses to and from the casino. The nicest hotel is the Mystic Marriot in Groton, but I think it may be expensive.

Check out the Mystic Hilton. It's a short drive to both Mohegan and Foxwoods. It is owned by the Foxwood tribe and offers a free shuttle to Foxwoods.

We just stayed at the Nystic Hilton and both couples agree it was the WORST HOtel we have ever been to. Since the hotel is not a real hilton but a franchise , it lacks the feel and service of a real hilton.
Thanksgiving weekend the indoor pool was 60 degrees and the air temp around pool area was 62. The hotel temp in halls ways was 59. It was freezing all complaints fell on deaf ears. Numerous complaints to the front desk went unattended no response from manager.
Our room was terrible Toilet not even bolted to the floor, stains on floor , intermittent heat, maids didnn't replace coffe cups daily only rinsed them out and put back on counter. Made us wonder if they were ever really washed. Not enough hot water, no valet parking, no bellmen.
People we met that were staing at the Howard Johnson got better service, treatment and a warm pool area. This hotel caters to Foxwood high rollers and the high end Oriental gambler. Families and visitors to Mystic are not their market.
There is a wonderful all suite hotel closer to Mohegan Sun that is great. A friend stays there all the time I will try to get name it maybe a Homewood suite or something to that effect
