Hotel Information/Deals/Suites

Hi,

Looking for information on best way to book a hotel for NYC- online, call the hotels directly etc. Also, any recommendations for hotels with suites since the group is 4 adults and 1 child. Location not sure yet, but near times square or central park would be nice. Price would be mid-high end range (averaging $200 night).

Thank you! As always, great advice and recommendations from Fodorites

Check out the one and two bedroom suites at The Salisbury.

Affina.com has all suite hotels all over Manhattan and they have full kitchens.

I was researching suites because I thought our teen grand daughter was going with us, but she is not. Anyhow, I learned that $200 is the BASE price for a suite big enough for the group you're talking about.
You might also want to look at places that rent apartmetns for short term. furnapt.com is one.

The Manhattan Suites Hotel Group owns Beekman Tower and several other suite hotels. I once stayed at the Eastgate (or else it is Eastman) Tower in Murray Hill which belongs to that group, and I had a two bedroom auite. But these are converted apartments and this place was HUGE (it ran from front to back of the entire bldg.) Not really fancy but nice and clean and had a full kitchen. I loved it. I don't know where you get a place that big enough for 4 adults and a child Times Square or Central Park, but this place was easily big enough for that crowd.

emd, that is now the Affina group. Beekman, Shelbourne Murray Hill, Surrey, Benjamin, Eastgate Towers and so on. I think they have 11 properties now.
