Doubletree Suites Times Square ?

Would a suite at this property be a good choice for two adults and four older kids? I understand these suites are 450 sq feet and have two double beds in one bedroom and a sofa sleeper in a separate living room. Also, how's the location from a tourism standpoint. This will be our first NYC visit in June. Would Embassy Suites near Battery Park be better? Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

Six adults sharing one bathroom would put a strain on relationships. Also, I don't recommend two people on a sofabed.

The Salisbury Hotel has two bedroom apartments that have two full bathrooms as does some of the www.Affina.com properties.

you could do it, but it would be tight. Would 2 of the 'older' kids mind sharing a sofa bed? Those aren't comfortable for 1 person, never mind two. I don't know the suite size at embassy but the doubletree is a better location as far as convenience. Affinia.com has hotels with large 1 bedroom suites (2 queens, not doubles in bedroom, sofa bed, kitchen and dining area). There may even be room for a rollaway. I've seen the large 1 bedroom at the Shelburne Murray Hill (an Affinia hotel) and the 1 bedroom at the doubletree. The shelburne is much roomier. I actual like the Shelburne location better as well. Although I know most tourists like to stay in the Times Square area, it's congested, noisy and filled with many chain and overpriced restaurants. The embassy suites is in a quiet area near the hudson river, a bit removed from the action. It's a few long blocks to the nearest subway and tribeca (where there are more restaurants, etc.).

I agree with GoTravel's comment about the 1 bathroom. I didn't even think of that. We manage with 4 of us to 1 bathroom when on vacation, but I think 6 would most certainly be tough.

I don't think the hotel would allow 6 adults in one suite. The Embassy Suites is not a "better" option, but they might allow it. I think you'd be better in a larger apartment. Check the Envoyclub.com
