Hotel in Midtown NYC for Bachelor Party
Hello all,
Need help picking a hotel in mid-town New York City. The guys are headed down for a bachelor party which involves visiting bars and houses of ill-repute in midtown Manhattan. There are 8 guys, and I'm thinking they'll need 4 rooms (2 guys per room). They are looking for a mid-priced, not dumpy, hotel in the $300 - $350 night price range. It would also be great if it was a more "young" oriented hotel -- something trendy maybe that would be friendly to a bachelor party and a late hour return to the room.
Thanks everyone!

I'm thinking the rooftop bar may be a great place to end the evening.

I looked on kayak.com and found this for $269 on the dates I plugged in. You may try the same thing with the actual dates. Anyway, I'm going to put this hotel on my list -

I was looking for something with a rooftop bar. I thought it would be a good place for the guys to hang out and have fun - and not disturb other guests late at night. Another idea would be a big conference hotel like the Hilton on 6th.

If you're thinking that any hotel is going to look forward to drunks roaming the halls behaving in unpleasant ways - I think you'll find none of the reputable ones are looking for that - you would have to find one that rents by the hour. If you mean just coming home in the middle of the night that's fine as long as you're not trying to bring any "acquaitances" home with you.
Try travelzoo or kayak to see what places are going to have 4 double rooms (assume you don;t mind sharing one double bed - if you're looking for double double rooms - 2 beds per room) your price may be a problem.
Also - for a group of 8 guys suggest you get to bars and clubs early - before 10 pm - or the trendy places may make you wait until enough women turn up.

I suspect that since next Sunday is September 11th, there are events such as conferences that avoid the date, so some higher end business hotels are less busy.
Midtown is more or less anything between 34th and 59th street, east to west, so technically it would be in that designation. But the places you're thinking of are not right in the area. It's also as far from hip as you can get, and may be less happy than other hotels to have the crowd you describe stumble in late at night.
Hipper hotels would more likely not be in midtown, but in the meatpacking district, soho, even union squarer and gramercy park. They'll need to get cabs back to the hotel unless they party nearby
The Hudson around Columbus Circle (west 59th) s often loved/hated for its cool lobby and bar , small rooms but convenient location.
Which hotels are you finding in your price range?

Edgy and Midtown and pretty hip, try the Ace on 29th and Broadway. You can walk to Times Square from there. There are also alot of bars close by. www.acehotel.com

The W New York has some of the smallest hotel rooms in the city. A poor choice in a boring corporate location imo. http://www.oyster.com/new-york-city/...out=2011-09-11
If you want to stay in midtown, try the Dream hotel in the theater district or the Hilton Fashion District just south of midtown.
