Hotel in Honolulu?

We're flying to Hawaii in September, and staying at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. However, we arrive (because of cheaper airfares) at 8:30 pm after a 14 hour flight, and I'd like to stay at an inexpensive hotel that evening, since we'll most likely just pick up some food and crash. The next morning we're going to Pearl Harbor, and we'll have a car - can anyone make a suggestion for a nice place to get a good nights sleep cheap before starting the main portion of our trip?

Thanks much!

How "nice" and how "cheap"? I like The Hawaiiana Hotel on BeachWalk and they have parking.

Maybe you could just stay by the airport, Pearl Harbor is about ten minutes away. Wake-up the next day, go to Pearl Harbor, then check-in at the Hyatt.

There are only 3 motels near the Honolulu airport. And they are each pretty darn horrible according to the reviews. Read about them over at Trip Advisor.

I like the Hawaiiana on Beach Walk. Inexpensive and clean.

Cheap as in under $100 - nice as in quiet and clean and not fancy. See, a small hotel or B&B where we could just crash for the night is what I'm looking for - the smaller the better. Don't want to have to schelp too much after the 14 hour plane ride - just stop at a 7-11, grab a few spam musubi and a drink, then head to a small hotel and a bed.

Any other suggestions? And if you're suggesting somewhere, have you stayed there? Anyone ever stay at a hostel?
