Hotel in Corpus near restaurants?

I will be in Corpus Christi one night for business, right now I have a reservation at the Fairfield Inn Corpus Christi, Blanche Moore Drive.
I enjoy a glass of wine after a long day and prefer to walk to dinner. Is that possible form the Fairfield or is there another place/area I should stay? Thanks!

I don't know where that hotel is, but I always stay at the Omni on Bayshore Drive downtown right on the Bay, which has an excellent restaurant on its top floor. NOTE: there are 2 Omni hotels within 3 blocks of each other on Bayshore Dr. and this one is the one nearest the federal courthouse.

Is it possible for you to change hotels? The Fairfield appears inland, i.e. no views of the water. If you can, I would make the switch to the Omni Bayfront--most, if not all, of their rooms have at least a partial water view and there are several good restaurants within walking distance.

Depending on where your business is, all of the above comments are accurate. The Fairfield is on SPID (South Padre Island Drive)and is located in the main shopping area of Corpus. There are many restaurants in front of the hotel - Macaroni Grill, Fridays, On the Border and others, all in walking distance. Also the brand new Hilton Garden Inn opens tomorrow. It is a couple of miles east of there, also on SPID. There are several very good local Mexican food restaurants in the area, especially one just across the expressway. Also, Applebee's adjoins the hotel.
