My guess is that you won't see a $21 difference between the Cook and the Voyager often, probably a situations where they have define their ``seasons'' differently. But if you can get it, it's a pretty good deal. Most times the difference is at least 70-90 bucks a night.
Voyager has a pretty simple rate structure -- $169 June-Aug. $129 shoulder and $89 low. While not as lush as the Cook, some families like it because rooms offer fridges and microwaves. These are two very different types of properties.

Thank you !!
z, I got a corporate rate at Long House of $ 139.00 with 2 dbl beds and breakfast. If they will have vacancy that night 18th it might be our place.. !!
Due to my airline staff stand-by status I am not allowed to reserve seats on flights with US carriers, like from Gustavus 18th evening, therefore I cannot fix the lodging yet, or I might find myself in the position to pay for cancellation fee to any hotel if we do not get on board because the flight is full !! That's why that night is still open.. !
So I collect comments and quotations, then will call and decide upon landing in Anchorage, in the hope that the room, wherever it is, will still be available!

Will make a report of the whole trip on first week of september !!
I got a lot of comments and suggestions on this forum. The great thing of forums is that for the first trip I just ask and ask and ask and listen... you are all very kind.. then, once back home I might be of some help for others having their first trip to Alaska !!!
