Hotel help between Sea World and Magic Kingdom

We are travelling with 2 toddlers so need either connecting rooms or a suite with a door (kids in room and parents on pull-out). Spending one day at Sea World, one day at Magic Kingdom, 2 days on hotel property/at the pool in March/April timeframe. Any suggestions? Want a nice, resort-type hotel since half the time will be spent there - thanks

La Costa Resort in Carlsbad is lovely and perfect for the kids..
You can do Legoland too..
Ask for the renovated rooms!

Stay at one of the Disney properties and drive up to Sea World.

Margaret,
Seaworld and Disney are less then 20 minutes apart via I-4.

With two toddlers, switching hotels would seem to be a less than ideal solution.

If cost isn't your main priority, my suggestion is the Polynesian Resort at Disney World. A garden view room will run at least $300 per night. (Perhaps more.) It meets several of your important needs - namely being close to the MK for a mid-day break and a great pool.

The layout of the standard room is amenable to a family of 4. You typically get two queen beds and a day bed. The day bed converts to a regular mattress. We've stayed at the Polynesian multiple times with our kids. Our 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter can fit nicely on opposite ends of the day bed.

Hello Margaret,

Well there are many options to consider. First is price. Next is hotel amenities. Since your going to Seaworld for a day and the Kingdom for a day and then spending two daysat the hotel, your going to want to have a good pool and lots of great things to do around the hotel.

So stay on a Disney Property. There are a lot of good choices. If you have the money stay at the Boardwalk, there is tons of (non-theme) park stuff to do, like a zero depth entry pool shaped like a pirates ship, watercraft to rent, nearby is the Boardwalk with dineing and shops. Plus all hotels have bus service to Downtown Disney, with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Or really knock the kids socks off and stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Where certain rooms back up to the Savana. You get up and open the drapes and there is a Giraffe eating right next to your window.

Second option is to stay on International Drive. There are hundreds of hotels on International Drive. Stay in one somewhere between the Convention Center and SeaWorld. That way you hve foot access to shops and restaurants. But with these hotels the pools and amenities can be kind of hum drum. Try the newly renovated Hyatt Place, the rooms are real big and they serve complimentary Breakfast.

Either way your going to need a rental car (or if your driving down).
Send me an email and we can talk further. [email protected]

This is a tough call. There are many great resorts - its all a matter of price! What is your budget like per night?
Disney properties are fun - and run the gamit on pricing. Your kids will still feel the Disney magic - in the Deluxe Level most people like the Contemporary and Grand FLoridian as they are on the monorail line - I dont think they are worth the money. Try the Wilderness Lodge. Also in the Moderates we like the Port Orleans Riverside. Staying off property is great too - we have done the Peabody (which is closer to Sea World,) Hyatt (near Disney,) and the World Marriot - in the middle. The Peabody and Hyatt I got on Priceline.
